  1. The Act doesn’t state that the countries of Scotland and England would ceased to exist.

    Wasn’t the act of union really to stop the Catholics returning to the English & Scottish Kingdoms.

    It only show the Supreme court ruling was put up job.

    1. Yes It was cobbled together by the English clergy and the queen’s advisors and was a spoiler tactic, if enacted to ensure the continuity of the English Crown as protestant. The ever present threat of King Charles returning to Scotland was in their thoughts. A Union or colonisation would resolve the issue
